DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO HAVE A TRADE REPRESENTATIVE PERMIT ISSUED FOR A LEGAL ENTITY (COMPANY)

A Legal Entity (Company) interested in practicing as Trade Representative must meet the following prerequisite conditions and submit the following documents:

 

1. APPLICATION, you can download it here (pdf file) - only in Greek - or get it by the Registration Department of Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
   
    
2. ARTICLES OF STATUTE OR GOVERNMENT GAZETTE ISSUE (for S.A. and L.T.D. Companies) along with any amendments, ratified and showing the Name, Seat, Duration and Aim (which should include the term "representation of foreign trading houses").
   
    
3. DOCUMENTS OF REPRESENTATION that prove the COMMISSIONING of the company representation, concerning its representative functions to a natural person (properly qualified), which (documents of representation) are the following in each case:
   
   
   • for an S.A. company and Cooperative of Ltd. Liability - The relevant Board Meeting Minutes.
     
      
   • for a Ltd. Liability Company - Resolution of General Assembly.
     
      
   • For general and limited partnerships - the relevant decision of Shareholders΄ Meeting.
4. EDUCATION CERTIFICATES (At least upper Secondary School Leaving Certificate, or State Commercial School or other equivalent or corresponding School in Greece or abroad) of the NATURAL PERSON (who, according to the above, has been appointed as a representative for the representation tasks of the company).
   
   Proof of equivalence for certificates from foreign institutes is issued by:
   
   
    
5. CERTIFICATE OF "NON-BANKRUPTCY" 
   
   
   • for the natural person (who, according to the above, has been appointed as a representative for the representation tasks of the company)
     
      
   • for the legal entity (company, provided three months have elapsed since its establishment)
6. DECLARATION for self-appointed inquiry of a criminal record copy from the ministry of Justice. (You can download it here (pdf file) - only in Greek - or get it by the Export Department of T.C.C.I.). Your criminal record will be searched by T.C.C.I.΄s own means.
   
    
7. CERTIFICATE BY THE COURT OF THE 1ST INSTANCE OF THESSALONIKI, that the representative is not "under court restriction order or perception".
   
    
8. AFFIDAVIT according to Law 1599/86 that the interested party:

PHOTOCOPY: IDENTITY CARD for Greek citizens or PASSPORT for foreign citizens from EU Member - States, or RESIDENCE and EMPLOYMENT PERMIT for foreigners from third countries, for whom it is also required that a "RECIPROCITY CERTIFICATE" should be submitted, concerning the practice of a Trade Representative, issued by the Greek Diplomatic Authority (Legal Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

Certificates of "Non-Bankruptcy", Criminal Record and "No Court restrictions or guardianship" are valid for three months.

a. is not a civil servant - in the broad sense of the term - or a company the State participates in in any way, and

 

b. does not come under provisions of Article 1, par. 4 of Presidential Decree 219/91 (foreseeing which persons cannot be trade representatives).
