Importance for the Private Sector companies

For the private sector, the World Bank Group is of particular interest, because it helps the promotion of foreign direct investment in developing countries, and because it finances development projects in the frame of which the required procurement of goods and services is implemented though international tenders governed by a regime of full transparency.  For the above-mentioned procurement thousands of tender invitations are announced each year. About 50,000 supply contracts amounting to approximately $ 50 billion are signed each year, 90% of which worth less than $ 1 million and 60% worth less than $ 500,000. 

In response to the Covid-19 crisis, the World Bank Group has been actively mobilized by significantly increasing the financing of projects related to the management of this crisis. 

The Bank in 2021 allocated $ 221 billion to finance 1764 projects in 144 countries. Information on the relevant notices can be found on the Bank's website:
